At Watson Ferguson and Company we’re renowned for high quality book printing. Our machinery and services are geared to printing and then binding (or fastening is another way to describe it) these pages together. So, you can think of ‘book’ to mean the traditional volume, fiction, reference book, information booklet, examination paper, annual report …and there’s a variety of binding options for you to chose from.

Design

Our design service means we will design and format your book for you if required. That means you only have to worry about what the book says. We will provide you with full page proofs (which will include photographs and illustrations) before printing. If you have any questions about printing, please look at our Book Process Guide. The advantages of the internet and the competitive Australian dollar mean we can compete in the international market place. We recently published a textbook for Dutch schoolchildren. The textbook was originally created by Education specialists at Griffith University here in Queensland and translated into Dutch. Queensland is one of the most innovative states in the world and Watson Ferguson is part of that growth. We are very happy to speak to local and international clients.

People who join the team at Watson Ferguson and Company not only become part of the longest running printing company in Queensland, but they also become part of our family.

Steve Gould started 46 years ago in 1956. “When I started, around 1956, we used to make all the window faced envelopes for Australia. That was before two piece window envelopes. And then we were probably the biggest carton manufacturer in Queensland, doing all the R M Gow work, and we did butter wrappers, and cheques...When specialist printers came into those fields, Watson Ferguson lost some major contracts and had to go looking for other work. It was at this time that the company moved into book printing. Then by the time the book bounty came in we were number six in Australia in book production. The company has continued to meet new challenges and is now entering the information delivery. This provides new opportunities for old and new employees but still provides old fashioned printing – the book is still well and truly alive."
